Honda, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the much-awaited new generation 2016Honda Civic sedan. The vehicle has been unveiled at a special event in Los Angeles, USA.
The new generation Honda Civic sedan shares its design cues with the Civic Coupe concept, which was unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Talking about styling, the new Civic gets slow slung front fascia which is dominated by a stylish chrome grile, flanked by sleek headlamps. LED headlamps will be offered as an optional. The sporty bumper gets sharp edges and a contoured bonnet round off the front fascia.
The side profile of the sedan gets aerodynamic swooping roofline and aggressive character lines. At the back, the sedan gets stylish boomerang taillights, integrated spoiler and a hexagonal license plate enclosure.
Inside the cabin, the 2016 Honda Civic sedan gets multi-layered dashboard with compartmentalized instrument console, newly styled three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system. All black interior scheme with silver inserts add to its styling.
Based on an all-new platform with improved suspension setup, the new Civic gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine mated to a CVT. This engine is capable of producing around 173PS of power. The base 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine is now capable of producing 158PS, and is paired to either with a 6-speed manual or a CVT.
Feature list include an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlamps, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, airbags for all occupants, traction control, etc. Honda Car India is also planning to relaunch the sedan into India. We expect that the vehicle would go on sale in the second half of 2016.
